Border Patrol agents seized over 9,939 pounds of marijuana and 56 pounds of methamphetamine. Agents arrested six criminal aliens and ten gang members. There were four rocking incidents.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested two United States Citizens (USC) and one illegal alien from Guatemala near Sarita, Texas. The USCs were charged with alien smuggling. Records checks revealed the USC driver of the smuggling vehicle had an extensive criminal history, including a conviction for being an aggravated felon in possession of a firearm.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador in Mission, Texas. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13) gang. Records checks revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.
Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,454 pounds of marijuana and a van near Los Ebanos, Texas. Agents observed several subjects loading suspected narcotics into the van near the Rio Grande River. When agents approached, the subjects absconded and abandoned the marijuana.
Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 236 pounds of marijuana near Douglas, Arizona. Agents observed an ultralight aircraft (ULA) enter U.S. airspace from Mexico and responded to a suspected narcotics drop zone. Agents discovered the marijuana at the drop zone and observed the ULA returning to Mexico.

El Centro Sector РBorder Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Sure̱o gang. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history and had been previously removed from the United States.
El Paso Sector РBorder Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Fabens, Texas. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Sure̱o gang. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history and had been previously removed from the United States.
Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,234 pounds of marijuana and a pickup truck near Abram, Texas. Agents observed two rafts crossing the Rio Grande River and responded to the suspected landing area. As they approached, numerous subjects absconded into Mexico, abandoning the truck and the marijuana. Records checks revealed the truck had been reported stolen.
Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,140 pounds of marijuana and a pickup truck near La Casita, Texas. Agents observed several subjects loading suspected bundles of narcotics into the vehicle. The truck left the scene and agents subsequently deployed a controlled tire deflation device to stop the vehicle. Agents encountered the abandoned vehicle containing the marijuana shortly thereafter.

Del Rio Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Carrizo Springs, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of Texas for sexual assault of a child and had been previously removed from the United States.
Miami Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Jacksonville, Florida. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the 18th Street gang. Records checks revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.
Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents recovered a stolen GMC truck and seized 2,008 pounds of marijuana near Gu Vo, Arizona. Agents encountered the truck abandoned on the side of the road and a search of the vehicle uncovered the marijuana.

Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 56 pounds of methamphetamine, two vehicles, and arrested three USCs and one national of Mexico at the traffic checkpoint near Laredo, Texas. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the primary vehicle and a subsequent search by agents uncovered the narcotics. The second vehicle was identified as being involved in the case.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents rescued two illegal aliens near Mission, Texas. A CBP Office of Air and Marine air asset notified agents that a subject was struggling to stay afloat in the Rio Grande River. Agents conducting riverine operations responded and extracted the subject from the river. A second responding vessel observed another subject clinging to a tree in the river and rescued her as well.
Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,932 pounds of marijuana and recovered a stolen Chevrolet sport utility vehicle near Gu Vo, Arizona. The vehicle containing the marijuana was discovered abandoned. Records checks revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen in the state of Colorado.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested a USC, 14 illegal aliens from Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras, and seized a tractor-trailer at the traffic checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer and a scan using non-intrusive inspection technology revealed anomalies within the vehicle. A subsequent search by agents uncovered the illegal aliens concealed inside the trailer.
Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents rescued an illegal alien from Ecuador near Topowa, Arizona. After receiving a report of a subject in distress, agents and a CBP Office of Air and Marine air asset initiated a search. The subject was located and determined to be suffering from severe dehydration. Agents administered first aid until relieved by local emergency services personnel, who transported the subject to a local hospital for treatment.
