Let’s all rewind the clock about forty years to the height of the Me Generation. Everything was “groovy,” and the mantra of the day was obama-and-harry-reid“peace, love and happiness,” and “If it feels good, do it.” It was a free, easy and uninhibited time. “Flower power” was big, the anti-war movement was chic and diversity and inclusion were budding sentiments among the famous and the tragically hip. “The Man” was the problem and we were all told – repeatedly and ad naseum – that we were not supposed to trust anyone over 30.

Fast forward to today…

As the most recent government shutdown got underway, there was a concerted effort by the mainstream media and Congressional Democrats to lay the blame for the cessation of federal money flow at the feet of TEA Party Republicans and Conservatives. At every press conference, in every news item and every editorial, the politicos and the establishment media complex included the words, “Republican shutdown.” Even before the official hiatus of government functions, we were being told repeatedly and with increasing fervor that Republicans – and especially TEA Party Republicans – were going to suffer the slings and arrows of blame in the polls. In all honesty, the Progressive Left was beautifully executing one of the fundamental principles touted by Vladimir Lenin: “A lie told often enough becomes the truth.”

For the thinking and aware – for those who were paying attention and honest – the literal action of “shutting down” the federal government came to be because of two things. First, President Obama refused to negotiate with Congress, in a good-faith effort to avoid a politically advantageous event. And second, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), refused to even allow votes on the several bills that the House of Representatives passed in a good-faith effort to keep the “government feed trough” full. To wit, the reality is the government was “shutdown” by Mr. Obama, Mr. Reid and their Progressive brethren because they would not negotiate on the Affordable Care Act, a program rolled out to disastrous result; because of political vanity.

It is for this reason that the “tweets” coming out of one Hollywood’s Me Generation über-divas are all the more disturbing; all the more hypocritical, even as they serve to expose the truth about the “inclusive” and “tolerant” Progressive Left.

The Examiner.com reports:

In a series of nearly incomprehensible tweets issued Thursday, pop diva Cher suggested TEA Party Republicans be killed over the current partial shutdown, Twitchy reported.

Calling Republicans the “devil incarnate” in tweets filled with expletives, she suggested they be put in jail and ultimately killed.

On Monday, Cher engaged in another all-caps rant against Republicans, calling them “sociopaths.”

Well, as the “Church Lady” of Saturday Night Live fame would say, “Isn’t that special?”

It would seem that the long-haired flower child that used to duet with deceased US Rep. Sony Bono (R-CA), has evolved into a foul-mouthed and violent totalitarian with a tendency toward intolerance and anti-Americanism, not to mention existing as a constitutional illiterate. This character flaw doesn’t seem to be unique to Cher, or as her parents named her, Cherilyn Sarkisian. This character flaw is a mainstream malady among the total of the Progressive Movement. Whether it’s Cher’s tweets or Bill Ayers Weather Underground explosive devices at the US Capitol Building and the US State Department, there is nothing – nothing – inclusive, tolerant or non-violent about the Progressive Movement.

Truth be told, the Progressive Movement – and their contemporary stewards, the jet-set of the Me Generation – have always been about getting their way and executing any kind of behavior to get it, whether it be in their personal lives of in politics. They are self-centered narcissists who care less about community or country than the leas thing about themselves. They are the cancer that is tearing our country apart and it is high time that the no- and low-information voters come to understand them for exactly what they are: selfish, intolerant megalomaniacs.

Yup…they’d like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony…but you’ve better not march to the beat of a different drum…or you’ll be singing a tune that goes something like this: “Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right here I am, stuck in the middle with you.”
