First, let me say that I thoroughly believe Iran is our enemy and is virtually capable of any evil deed and/or atrocity in the name of Allah. And I further believe that Russia is behind Iran and its deeds – Trevor Loudon and I are in total agreement on this. I also agree with Trevor that there is a strong likelihood of Obama pulling an October surprise by striking Iran. That scenario is gaining in possibility every day, with Leon Panetta at the forefront. But it will be an attack that is for show and not for true defense. It will be by drone and will entail surgical strikes. It will be for sheer political impact and could well do catastrophic harm to Israel.
Enter cyber warfare. Leon Panetta is ginning up an emergency to justify a cyber security Executive Order from Barack Obama. He is hinting (notice that he never outright condemns Iran) that Iran is behind the attacks and they may be. But it is just as likely that even if they are, we are using it for political propaganda to empower the State in controlling the Internet, banking and utilities. A coup within the US without a shot fired.

In a blunt admission designed to prod action, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta Thursday night told business executives there has been a sudden escalation of cyber terrorism and that attackers have managed to gain access to control systems for critical infrastructure.
In a speech in New York City, Panetta said the recent activities have raised concerns inside the U.S. intelligence community that cyber terrorism might be combined with other attacks to create massive panic and destruction on par with the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
Iran may attack us by computer, but after some discussion with people who have expertise in this area, I do not believe they are sophisticated enough to widely access our critical infrastructure. However, our government is and it would benefit them mightily to control the Internet, banking and utilities. It would be a Marxist’s wet dream come true. Screw the Constitution – it’s for the good of national security. Panetta will take what the Patriot Act started and finish America off with cyber security. He will scare us into relinquishing our rights for security and you will have neither. But you will get totalitarian fascism.
For those of you who are hung up on the whole “fascism vs communism” thing, a little clarity: the current crop of totalitarians running the Administration have done their best to avoid behaving in a way that validates either of the popular “-ism” labels. They have sought to implement a kind of post-communist, post-fascist, socialism-as-parasite-over-capitalism, but always a Marxism-inspired command-and-control central government model. Try not to get too mired in the labeling tar pit. They’re all bad and what they are very much not is any form of liberty-ism.

We also know they are seeking to create advanced tools to attack these systems and cause panic, destruction, and even the loss of life.”
Current and former U.S. officials tell the Washington Guardian that U.S. investigators have growing evidence that Iran was behind a recent wave of cyber attacks, particularly those that temporarily paralyzed energy interests in two Middle East countries that are key U.S. allies.
Since the Republicans have successfully stopped this from going through Congress, Obama now turns to his Executive Order pen to implement this nightmare, while the media claims conservatives and big business are keeping Obama, Panetta and their minions from carrying out national security.
A virus named ‘Shamoon’ is being pointed at as the cyber culprit. It is a ‘wiper’ and erases data while storing garbage data and an image of a burning American flag. Panetta claims it destroyed more than 30,000 computers. While that could happen in the Middle East, I have a hard time believing it totally destroyed thousands of computers here in the US.
Panetta claims that there have been massive attacks on banks here in the US – while this may very well be true, we have not seen corresponding banking failures here. He claims terrorists have gained control of infrastructure with the possibility of trains derailing (possibly full of deadly chemicals), poisoned city water supplies and/or electrical grid failures. If true, why hasn’t this hit the news? (Remember, if it serves the Administration, it’s definitely in the news.) Where are the casualties? Where are the power grid failures? (The grids are in three major sections of the country as I recall.) Where is the starvation, panic and riots that would result? And the martial law… He claims all of these are possible future scenarios, but earlier he claimed that they had already occurred to a certain extent. So which is it? Are we under attack now? If so, where’s the beef?

I smell a Marxist rat here. I have no love for the tyrants in Iran and I believe they should have been taken out decades ago. But more and more, I start wondering if our government is not as complicit in their plans as they are in the Muslim Brotherhood’s plans.
Claiming that we will always be somewhat vulnerable, Panetta is saying we have to act now or we are doomed. (Kind of like the 2008 “we’re all doomed” banking emergency.) Sorry if I just don’t believe all this bull crap. It is way too convenient and evil. Panetta concludes with an apocalyptic doomsday scenario worthy of The Stand:
“The most destructive scenarios involve cyber actors launching several attacks on our critical infrastructure at once, in combination with a physical attack on our country,” he added. “Attackers could also seek to disable or degrade critical military systems and communications networks.”
I believe he is saying here that multiple cyber attacks would be launched along with an EMP attack. While I believe this can happen, I also believe that right now Iran is busy with Syria and is far more likely to attack Israel. They’ll go after the low hanging fruit first to gain power. Iran is currently scoping out Israel’s nuclear capabilities, which indicates to me they are going there first.
He said the department is investing more than $3 billion a year in cybersecurity to beef up its ability to defend against and counter cyberthreats, including investment in U.S. Cyber Command. And the Pentagon is honing its policies so that any actions comply with the law of armed conflict.
“Our mission is to defend the nation. We defend. We deter. And if called upon, we take decisive action to protect our citizens,” he said.
He added, however, that the Defense Department will not monitor American citizen’s personal computers, or provide for the day-to-day security of private or commercial networks.
First of all, aside from the bluster, do you actually believe that last statement? I don’t. And why would you need to say that, unless you were lying? Unless you were contemplating stomping on the Constitution and our rights? Panetta is invoking 9-11 and says we can’t let that happen again, but everything he and Obama has done in the last four years is the opposite of protecting us – it has massively endangered us. Hear that? It’s the sound of unintended consequences – it’s the sound of World War III bearing down on us. And Obama and Panetta are using fear as their weapon du jour. We have enemies to really fear… near the top are Iran, Russia and China. But our greatest enemy is the Obama Administration – the enemy within.
Already another Executive Order was issued last week strengthening sanctions against Iran while in reality giving the government the power to freeze any American’s bank account.
Panetta is getting ready to take us to war for purely political reasons. Thus the increased sanctions and the saber rattling at Iran, which I believe is mostly for show. And Obama’s cyber smoke screen is more of a threat to Americans than it is to our enemies.
