The FBI focuses on threats that challenge the foundations of American society or involve dangers too large or complex for any local or state authority to handle alone. In executing the following priorities, we will produce and use intelligence to protect the nation from threats and to bring to justice those who violate the law.

- Oklahoma City/Houston: Fugitive Charles Alan Dyer Arrested in Texas
The FBI announced the arrest of 31-year-old Charles Alan Dyer, after a nationwide manhunt and the efforts of multiple federal, state and local law enforcement. Full Story
- Tampa: President of DME Company Sentenced to 12 ½ Years for Medicare and Medicaid Fraud
Ben Bane was sentenced to 12 ½ years in federal prison for health care fraud charges and submitting false claims. Bane was ordered to pay $7 million in restitution, a $3 million fine, a $1,000 special assessment and three years of supervised release after serving time in prison.Full Story
- Sacramento: FBI Task Force Arrests Fugitive After 36 Years on the Run
After 36 years of looking over his shoulder, William Walter Asher, now 66 years old, is finally back in prison. FBI agents and task force officers assigned to the Sacramento FBI Safe Streets Violent Crime Task Force arrested him without incident. Full Story
- Norfolk: Two Somali Pirates Sentenced to Life in Prison for Attack that Resulted in Murder of Four U.S. Citizens
Ali Abdi Mohamed and Burhan Abdirahman Yusuf, both of Somalia, were sentenced to life in prison for their roles in the pirate attack against the S/V Quest, which resulted in the murder of four United States citizens. Full Story

- Cincinnati: Gahanna Couple Sentenced for Multi-Million Dollar Fraud Scheme
Michael Spillan was sentenced to 140 months in prison, and his wife, Melissa Spillan, was sentenced to 36 months in prison for operating a fraudulent stock-based loan scheme that caused at least 38 victims to lose more than $19 million. Full Story
- Detroit: Former “Most Wanted” Health Care Fraud Fugitives Plead Guilty to $9.1 Million Detroit Medicare Fraud Scheme
Two sisters who owned a fraudulent Detroit-area medical clinic and who are former “most wanted” health care fraud fugitives pled guilty for their leading roles in a $9.1 million Medicare fraud scheme. Full Story
