Grand Forks Sector – Border Patrol agents assisted federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in the interdiction of a large scale marijuana growing and processing operation near Crandon, Wisconsin. The interdiction resulted in the arrest of 12 individuals and the seizure of approximately 100,000 marijuana plants.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near Brownsville, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject was a Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13) gang member and had been previously removed from the United States.
San Diego Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Imperial Beach, California. The subject actively resisted arrest, and assaulted an agent in an attempt to gain control of the agent’s Pepperball Launching System. The subject was subdued and taken into custody without further incident.
Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents assisted local law enforcement officials in rescuing USCs who were suffering from heat-related injuries in a canyon near Tucson, Arizona. The group was hiking when they became distressed and called for help. Agents safely extracted the group and escorted them to awaiting emergency medical personnel.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 64 pounds of marijuana, a BMW, and arrested a USC subsequent to a vehicle stop near Ocotillo, California. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle, and a search by agents revealed the marijuana inside the trunk.
El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico in San Bernardino, California. The subject had a prior conviction for lewd and lascivious acts with a child in the state of California, and had also been previously removed from the United States.
El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Santa Teresa, New Mexico. Records checks revealed the subject had prior felony convictions and had been previously removed from the United States.
Marfa Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 118 pounds of Promethazine with Codeine (also known as “Purple Drank”), a Dodge Minivan, and arrested two USCs at the traffic checkpoint near Sierra Blanca, Texas. The subjects presented themselves for inspection and a scan using non-intrusive inspection technology revealed anomalies in the vehicle. A subsequent search by agents uncovered the narcotics.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. Records checks revealed the subject was a convicted sex offender and had an active arrest warrant for felony fraud issued in the state of California. The subject had also been previously removed from the United States.
El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested two illegal aliens from Mexico near Fabens, Texas. Records checks revealed one subject was an 18th Street gang member, and the other was a Gran Barrio Central gang member. Both subjects also had extensive criminal histories and had been previously removed from the United States.

Blaine Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 153 pounds of poppy husks after agents reported observing a suspicious subject near the international border in Blaine, Washington. Agents responded to the area and found duffel bags containing the poppy husks, which are used to make the drug “doda.” The subject absconded into Canada and was subsequently apprehended by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Deming, New Mexico. Records checks revealed the subject was a registered sex offender in the state of Florida and had been previously removed from the United States.
Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 100.2 pounds of cocaine and an abandoned vehicle near Laredo, Texas. Agents responded to a report of suspicious activity and observed two subjects run from a nearby junkyard and cross into Mexico. A Border Patrol canine alerted to a vehicle located in the junkyard and a search revealed the cocaine in the trunk.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 98 pounds of marijuana, a pickup truck, and arrested two USCs near Nogales, Arizona. Agents observed an Ultra Light Aircraft drop several large bundles of suspected contraband in the United States and then return to Mexico. Agents performed a vehicle stop on a pickup truck that was observed leaving the drop zone, and discovered the marijuana in the vehicle.

Miami Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested a national of Italy near West Palm Beach, Florida. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history, including a felony conviction for grand theft.
Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents rescued three illegal aliens after subjects already in custody advised the agents that three members of their group were in distress near Lukeville, Arizona. Agents initiated a search and rescue operation, and located the subjects.
Yuma Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 476 pounds marijuana, a Jeep Cherokee, and arrested a juvenile USC near Yuma, Arizona. Agents observed the vehicle being loaded with large bags of suspected narcotics. Agents attempted to stop the vehicle as it left the scene; however, the vehicle failed to yield. The vehicle was later found abandoned after the driver crashed into an apartment building. The marijuana was found inside the vehicle, and the juvenile USC was subsequently located and arrested.

Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history and had been previously removed from the United States.
Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,210 pounds of marijuana, one gram of cocaine, a tractor-trailer, and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. The subject presented himself for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer. A search revealed the marijuana in the trailer. A search of the subject incident to his arrest revealed a small baggie of marijuana and cocaine.
