Notes for AFR show 12-13-2014
– Part 1
Segment One
The great war strategist, Sun Tzu, said “know thine enemy.” Today we are going to look at the meanings of Islamic terms to help us understand who we are dealing with. Islam is the enemy of our way of life because it is the enemy of freedom. The more we know about Islam the more we will be able to understand the strategies Islam uses against us.
We are going to look at 56 Islamic terms. These are terms that are essential to understanding Islam. Understanding the terminology of Islam is not only important for defending ourselves against the strategies of Islam, it is also important in reaching Muslims for Christ.
1. The first term we want to look at is Allah Akbar. We are told that this simply means god is good. You will notice that the more worked up a Muslim gets, the louder and the more guttural they get. This is because this term is like a spiritual spell. What the phrase really means is Allah is the greatest or Allah is the highest.
Even missionaries that work with Muslims are confused by this term. Some of them are even using the term themselves. When asked why they say that they are just praising Jehovah by saying God is good.
2. Ayah simply means verse. When you turn to sira 5 aya 3 your are saying turn to chapter 5 verse 3.
3. Basmallahis an incantation that Muslims use. It means “In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful.” This phrase precedes every chapter in the Qur’an, except for chapter 9, which is the last chapter of the Qur’an. There are 114 chapters, but they are ordered accosting to their length, not chronologically and chapter 9 was the last one written. The reason that it is not found in chapter 9 is that in this chapter Allah ceases to be merciful.
The Basmallah is about sanctification. It is similar to our phrase “in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit” or the phrase “hallowed be thy name.”
The Basmallah found its way found its way into the White House recently. If you remember when Bowe Bergdahl’s parents were invited to the Rose Garden at the White House? There was no prisoner swap. The 5 prisoners were released 5 days before Bergdahl was released. Bergdahl’s father had converted to Islam and showed up at the White House in full Islamic dress, including the beard. He said he was going to speak to his son in the language of his captors, but instead he spoke in Arabic and said the Basmallah.
If you watch the video of the meeting you will see that President Obama had a smile on his face when he said this. Remember, Obama speaks Arabic.

Segment Two
You can listen to our broadcast by clicking here. Listen to Tom Wallace and Shahram Hadian at noon central time each Saturday on American Family Radio. Download the audio MP3 Here. Below are the show notes from the program.
These next two go hand in hand. We see them a lot in the news because we have ISIS claiming to be the Caliphate. We need to understand what this means.
4. The Caliph is the successor to Muhammad. His is the supreme commander or leader of Islam. His word is law. We need to remember that Muhammad was building a kingdom and the Caliph is the emperor of that kingdom or empire. Muhammad ruled as a dictator and the Caliph ruler who answers only to Allah.
5. The Caliphate is the empire that the Caliph rules over.
6. The Dajjal is the antichrist. When you study end time prophecy in Islam it is like taking the book of Revelation and looking at it in a mirror. Our Messiah is their antichrist and our antichrist is their messiah. The Muslim Jesus performs the role of the false prophet in the book of Revelation.
The Christian view of the Antichrist is that he will come out of a European country. It seems that there is a turn from this traditional view and more people think that he may come from within Islam.
7. Dar al Harb is the house of war. It is the house of the infidel or the non-Muslim.
8. Dar al Islam is the house of Islam.
Christians are taught to be true to their faith in all situations. It is not this way in Islam. When a Muslim lives in Dar al Harb he lives and acts one way, and when he is in the Dar al Islam he lives and acts another way.
America is Dar al Harb and Muslims are permitted to act in accordance with the early verses of the Qur’an, which are the peaceful passages. When the Muslim population reaches a point where they can declare that it is now Dar al Islam, like in Europe today, their behavior changes.
Remember, Islam means submission. When the strength of the Muslims reaches a point where they can dominate it is submit or else. This does not require a majority, it only requires enough vocal Muslims to put fear in the hearts of our leaders. Many of the mosques in Europe have declared that Europe is not Dar al Islam.
9. Dawah is the word for evangelism. Most of the dawah is going on in the prisons of America and in the universities. In our prisons a lot of the blacks are turning to Islam because it is considered the religion of the blacks. What is ironic about this is that Muhammad was very anti-blacks. He called the raisin heads and described the evil man as a black man. He called a righteous man a white man. Biblical Christianity has no racism, it is for all men.
Remember the beheading in Moore, OK? It is believed that the man who did this was converted to Islam in prison. This is a very dangerous trend.
10, The Dhimmi is the non-Muslim living in Dar al Islam. It is non-Muslims who are subjugated to Islam even though they have not converted to Islam. They are second class citizens if you will. They pay a tax for protection called the Jizyah. The jizyah is found in Surah 9:29 it says:
Subdue them until they pay jizyah with willing submission and feel themselves subdued.
There are minimums and maximums it Shariah. The maximum is found in the pact of Umar, the second Caliph, and it is 50% of what they owned and 50% of what they earned.
This is what America’s first war was about. The Muslims were demanding the jizyah to allow our ships to pass through Mediterranean waters and then breaking the treaty. As a result Jefferson created the Marines and when in to the Muslim lands and defeated them.
The cry of the day was “Not a penny for tribute, but millions for defense.” this is what made America strong.

Segment Three
11. The Eid of Fitr is the feast at the end of Ramadan. Ramadan is a month of fasting and this feast breaks that period of fasting.
12. The Eid of Adha is a feast where they celebrate Abraham’s sacrifice of, watch this, Ishmael. The Qur’an teaches that Abraham sacrificed Ishmael, not Isaac. They also teach that the sacrifice was in Mecca.
We are taught that Islam is an Abrahamic faith. This is completely incorrect. Islam teaches that Ishmael was a legitimate son of Abraham and that he is the son of promise. It is true that Ishmael was a son of Abraham, but Isaac was the legitimate son and the son of promise. How can Islam be an Abrahamic faith when they get this critical fact wrong? It can be argued that Arabs are an Abrahamic people, but Islam is not an Abrahamic religion.
13. The Fatwa is a legal binding opinion given by an Islamic legal scholar. Sometimes fatwas are given as death sentences on unbelievers who have violated or blasphemed something about Islam. These fatwas call upon Muslims to carry out the sentence.
14. A Figh is a legal jurisprudence. A jurist is called a Faqih who is an expert in matters of Islamic legal matters. The figh is the legal system of Shariah Law and the realm of judges and lawyers who are Shariah experts.
15. The Hadith are the traditions of Muhammad. The mains source of Islam is the Qur’an because it is the dictated word of Allah given to Muhammad. There are also other authoritative sources, the Hadith and the Sirat. They are considered equal with the Qur’an because they are what Muhammad’s companions witnessed him doing and saying. When Muslims want to know how to act in a given situation they go to the Hadith to see what Muhammad did.
When someone leaves Islam the penalty is determined by what Muhammad did. He killed those who left Islam and so the death sentence on those who leave Islam is part of Islamic jurisprudence.
16. The Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca. This is the fifth pillar of Islam. There are 5 pillars of Islam. We will look at the others later on, but let me just give them to you here.
1. The Shahadah – The Muslim creed that is recited to become a Muslim It says “There is not god but Allah, and Muhammad is his prophet (or messenger)”
2. Salat – The prayers
3. Alms giving
4. Fastings
5. The Hajj

Segment Four
17. Halal is that which is permissible. It is used most specifically in relation to food.
Halal meat is becoming a real issue. Shahram recently received a letter from a man in New Zealand telling how much of an issue halal is there, even in their farming. Halal is closely related to another word on our list, number 19, haram, which means forbidden. In the Islamic texts halal is used only in relation to food. In Europe they are now applying it to other subjects. Halal meat must come from an animal that is sacrificed in a certain way, facing Mecca, hanging upside down, their throat being cut, blood being drained, a blessing being said over the meat to Allah. This is meat that has been sacrificed to Allah, to an idol. Eating this meat would violate the principle set down by the council of the Apostles in Jerusalem.
That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. Acts 15:29
All of the lamb sold at Costco is halal. This is becoming the practice of more and more stores. Another issue is that this meat is often not labeled as halal. In our prisons they are serving halal meat and forcing our prisoners to eat it whether they are Muslims or not. I Europe they do this in the school system.
We have no problem with Muslims eating halal. We have the right to know what we are eating. This is where the labeling becomes an issue. There has even been an issue of MacDonald’s serving halal meat.
The associated word haram is often heard as a name today. The terrorist group Boca Haram uses this name. Boca means Western education, and Haram means forbidden. The name means Western education is forbidden. This helps us understand why they attack schools. They are trying to eliminate Western education from their society.
18. The Hijab is a head covering. It covers the head and the hair, but it does not cover the face.
19. Haram we have already covered this under halal above.
20. The Imam is the leader of a mosque. He is a teacher of Islamic doctrine much like the pastor in a Christian church.
21. Injeel is the Islamic word for the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, as a whole. In Islam they have what they call the four holy books. The Injeel would be one of them. Of course the Qur’an is the most important of these books. The Torah, the five books of Moses, are also included. There is also the Zaboor, the holy books of David and Solomon. The Islamic versions of these books are not the same as found in our Bibles. They are counterfeits.
The Qur’an gives reverence to the Injeel, the Gospels, yet Isa, the Islamic Jesus, denies the Jesus of the Gospels. The Jesus of the Gospels is God in the flesh, the Son of God, who died on the cross and rose again from the grave. This is the central doctrine of the Christian faith. The Injeel of the Qur’an denies these very things.
The Torah of Islam gets the facts wrong. It distorts the covenant of God with Abraham. They replace Isaac with Ishmael, they make Abraham a prophet of Allah.
22. Isa is the Islamic Jesus. He is a false Jesus who was not the Son of God, was not God, and did not die on the cross.
This is as fare as we will go today. We will give the rest of this glossary in our notes for next week’s broadcast.
