Fortress of Faith Radio by Tom Wallace and Shahram Hadian on current events in the Middle East from a biblical perspective.

Today I want to spotlight some events in the Middle East. I want to start by looking at one of the largest Christian charities which has been infiltrated by the Muslim terrorist group Hamas. Money that was to go to humanitarian purposes has been going directly to the militant wing of Hamas.
This is shocking in one sense, but in another, as you will see as we expose the evidence, that it is not surprising. We are talking about World Vision, which is probably the largest Christian charity in the world. On June 16th the Gaza Director of World Vision, Muhammad al-Halabi, was arrested by the Israeli government. We should start with the question, why is World Vision employing Muslims at this high level?
Muhammad al-Halabi is charged with funneling tens of millions of dollars to Hamas. The exact amount could be as high as fifty million dollars. Our State Department has Hamas listed as a terrorist organization. It was founded by the Muslim Brotherhood in 1987.
Hamas is the same group we found money was being funneled to through the Holy Land Foundation back in 2007. This is not the first time something like this has happened, but it is the first time it has happened through a supposed Christian charity. This is major news. Of course Word Vision is denying that this has happened and is standing by its man.
This is really not surprising. There are other reports of this kind of thing coming out since this incident. The Israeli government is also charging that a UN employee is providing material support to Hamas. There is another story of another aid worker, working for Save the Children, who has joined the military wing of Hamas.
We see multiple reports that these charitable organizations are being infiltrated by Hamas. Seeing “Christian” organizations supporting the Palestinians is not a new thing. Even having so-called “Evangelicals” supporting the political wing of Hamas is not new. We are talking about the military wing of Hamas which has killed thousands of people, including hundreds, probably thousands, of Israelis.
I would make the argument that World Vision is no longer a Christian organization. World News Daily has an article showing that World Vision does not proselyte, that is they don’t evangelize. All they do is humanitarian work. I am getting a little tired of organizations like World Relief, World Vision, and other organizations claiming to be Christian, and yet hiring Muslims, working with Muslims, and no longer sharing the Gospel.
We should be concerned when groups like World Relief and World Vision, which are supposed to be Christian organizations, are taking in many of the refugees coming into America and not sharing the Gospel with them. I suspect that the reason for this is that the money from The federal government is more important than the souls of the refugees. There is an old saying, “With shekels, comes shackles.” When you accept money from the government there is usually something to tie you down. The federal money comes with the restriction that you cannot evangelize the refugees.
These groups may be Christian in name, but they are not in practice. Most of the money is coming from churches and professing Christians. We need to be aware that these groups are doing humanitarian work, but they are not doing the Christian work of reaching these people for Christ.
Maybe we should be asking the “Christian” groups we support, “How do you feel about Israel and about Palestine?” Last week we gave some questions you can ask to find out if your Muslim friend is a terrorist. Remember, if your friend sees Israel as a foreign occupier of the land, you are in trouble. The same is true for those who claim to be Christians. If your church or your pastor is on the wrong side of the Israeli/Palestinian issue, it may be time to move your membership.
The Muslim who worked for World Vision was not someone who was doing yard work. He was the Director of World Vision in Gaza. He directed the money to Hamas, which used the money for attacks on Israel, including the digging of the tunnels used to access Israel without going through border checkpoints.
Those who support World Vision should contact them and ask them where they stand on the Israeli/Palestinian issue. They should tell them that they are withholding their money until this issue is resolved. We are not talking about $50.000, we are talking about $50,000,000. How does $50,000,000 of humanitarian money go unnoticed?
There are millions, even billions of United Nations dollars going into the Palestinian Territory to help the Palestinian people. Most of this money is going to Hamas. UN groups like the United Nations Relief and Work Agency (UNRWA) have been infiltrated by Hamas. We know that the UN has been pro-Palestine and anti-Israel for a long time.
There is no nation on earth today that is standing with Israel, including the Obama administration. What we see in the world today lines up with Bible prophecy concerning the end times.
We need to call out the para-church organizations that, while claiming to be Christian, refuse to stand on biblical principles.
In 2014, after the 2012 legalization of homosexuality in Washington State, World Vision’s leadership in Washington State started allowing homosexual employees who were “married” to work for them. They said that their board had prayed about it and believes it is the right thing to do. Within 48 hours, because of people calling in and saying they would no longer support them, they recanted and said they made a mistake. Their entire board should have stepped down. They claimed to have prayed and felt that this was God’s will, and then as soon as the threat of losing money came, they changed their minds. I guess money talks louder than God.
This money going to Hamas is not just immoral, it is illegal. Hamas is a terrorist organization and giving material support to them is a serious crime.

About Hamas
Hamas is the Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine. We are told by this administration that the MB is peaceful, but it created Hamas, which is a terrorist group.
To understand Hamas, you must first understand the Muslim Brotherhood. To understand who the MB is, we need to go all the way back to the end of WWI. This brought the end of the caliphate, the Ottoman Empire. At that time there were about 300,000,000 Muslims in the world compared with the 1.6 to 1.7 billion in the world today. The MB started in Egypt, and its goal was to bring back the caliphate and bring the world under the dominion of Islam.
The MB was responsible for the assassination of Anwar Sadat and tried to take over the Egyptian government in the 1970’s. The Egyptian government has banned the MB from Egypt twice. It was restored under Mubarak because the MB helped him come to power. The MB is presently banned in Egypt. Other countries, like Egypt, recognize the MB as a terrorist organization, but the Obama administration refuses to do so.
In 1988, the MB gave birth to Hamas. The Hamas charter tells us that they were started by the Muslim Brotherhood and that it is the Palestinian arm of the MB to bring about the destruction of Israel. This is their whole purpose for existing.
Hamas took over the Gaza Strip by force. They control all the so-called Palestinians living in that region. All of the money that is sent in as humanitarian aid is stolen from the people and goes directly into the political or military branch of Hamas. It is used to finance attacks into Israel or to buy weapons.
Hamas became the official government of Palestine in 2006. The people in Gaza had an election, which we believe was fixed, and Hamas was brought into power. We now have a terrorist organization running Gaza. The point is that any humanitarian money going into Gaza will be diverted to terrorist activities.
I ask those who believe that Israel is the cause of the problems in the Middle East, why would you trust Hamas to do any better? Why would you support anything run by Hamas? The UN and many “Christian” charities have been infiltrated by Hamas. Let’s not forget that the Obama administration helped the overthrow of the Egyptian government when Mubarak, the MB puppet, came to power. It supported the rise of the MB. It gave 8 billion dollars to the MB to buy weapons, including tanks and planes. Had it not been for the secular Egyptian military, the MB would be running Egypt and doing what their charter says their purpose is, working for the destruction of Israel. How can you have peace if one entity will not recognize the other as a state and will not recognize their right to exist?
What is leading to the moral blindness in the churches and these “Christian” organizations?
I don’t consider these organizations to be Christian anymore. They need to stop calling themselves Christian organizations. They are deceiving millions of Christians into believing they are Christian when they won’t even stand on the Gospel.
I believe we have gotten off track because of a popular false teaching we hear today. It is known as replacement theology. It teaches that the “Church” has replaced Israel. It teaches that Israel has no place in biblical prophecy. It teaches that the New Covenant has done away with the Old Covenant, and that all of the promises made to Israel now apply to the “Church.” It teaches that we, as Christians, should not be concerned about Israel as a state.
Those who hold to replacement theology, also believe that Israel is occupying land that rightly belongs to the Arabs. Don’t they understand the history of the Old Testament? God promised the land of Cannon and much more to the descendants of Isaac. Replacement theology is a growing heresy.
The Bible answers the question concerning the land.
And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; (Romans 11:17)
Notice that Israel was not done away with. We, the Christians, were grafted in among them. God is not through with the Jews. The Book of Revelation speaks of those from the 12 tribes of Israel. There can be no doubt that Israel plays an important part in end-time prophecy. For the things prophesied in the end-times there must be a temple. In order for there to be a temple there must be Jews worshiping in Israel.
Listen to the command of verse 18:
Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. (Romans 11:18)
This tells us the attitude we should have toward the natural branches. Remember, we are not supporting the root, it is the root that is supporting us. Verse 19 continues:
Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. (Romans 11:19)
Replacement theology boast that we, the Christians, are the privileged ones. They see Christians as being lifted up above the Jews.
Editor’s note: If God took the promises He made to Israel and transferred them to the Christians, what assurance do we have that He will not someday take those He has made to us and transfer them to someone else?
Replacement theology creates antisemitism among “Christians,” which is growing today. As we see this grow, we see a pro-Palestinian, pro-Islam attitude in churches. This is why asking where people stand concerning Israel is an important question to ask.
Replacement theology is causing Christians to become antisemitic. If Israel is not in end-time prophecy, then most of Scripture makes no sense. If Israel is back in the land, then the prophecies make real sense.

Middle East Players
There are certain groups that influence attitudes on the Middle East. On the Islamist side there is the Muslim Brotherhood, which infiltrated the White House and the United Nations. Twenty-two percent of the UN budget comes from America. We have long said that we should cut our ties with the UN. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation, a 57 member voting block in the UN, runs the UN since it is the largest voting block. There are also groups like CAIR, who try to infiltrate churches.
On the Christian side there are families like the Awad family, who run Bethlehem Bible College. They are Palestinian Christians, but they are on record calling Israel a Zionist state. They call them the Israeli occupiers and an apartheid state. In an interview a number of years ago, when Hamas was elected in Palestine, Awad said that we should give Hamas a chance. This stunned me.
Replacement theology is causing “Christians” to turn on Israel by supporting the Palestinian cause. They claim that the land belongs to the Palestinians and that Israel is in the wrong.
There are people like Lynne Hybles, the wife of Bill Hybles, pastor of Willow Creek Church in Illinois, and who was admitted onto Obama’s faith-based council, who wrote an open letter to Obama asking him to further support the Palestinians. She has led trips to Israel and taken Christians to Gaza to show them the wall. I wonder if she showed them the tunnels and the weapons of the Palestinians. I am sure that she did not. She, and others like her, have been poisoning support for Israel.
This is spiritual deception. Once they turn against Israel, and toward supporting the Palestinians, they have turned from the teachings of Scripture.
The Palestinian Myth
Many believe that Palestine is a land. The word “Palestine” is found in the Bible one time.
Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head; (Joel 3:4)
It was referring to a group of Philistines who were not in Israel, they were in Syria. This word was captured by the Roman Emperor Hadrian, and he tried to call that region Palestine when he was trying to mix cultures and destroy the roots of the Israelites. It never caught on.
After WWI all of the Middle East was under the control of the British government. The League of Nations gave a mandate to the British to divide up the nations. In the first map they drew up, they planned for a two state solution for Israel and the Palestinians. They were going to allow Israel back into her homeland, and set up a Palestinian state for all of the displaced Arabs.
The Arabs had never heard of any such thing. They were being told by the British government that they were no longer Syrians, they were Palestinians. The whole idea of a Palestinian nation was a myth started by the British. The Arabs went ballistic when they saw this. They didn’t want the Jews to get anything. The original maps gave the Jews about 40% of the land, but because of the opposition of the Arabs, they redrew them and gave them only 5%. Jordan got the rest.
The point is that the whole idea of a Palestine is an invention of the British. They got it from a Roman Emperor and one reference in the Bible. It is a myth, there never has been a Palestinian nation.
There is a constant push in the UN to make Palestine an actual state. While it is treated like a state in some ways, Palestine has still not been recognized as an official state.
The Bible promised Ishmael land to the east so the Arabs were given much land. However, today Israel is only occupying about 5% of the land promised by God to her. The land promised to Israel goes into to Jordan, Syria, parts of Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
The fight over the land is part of the division between Isaac and Ishmael that started way back in Genesis. God said that Ishmael would be a wild man and be at war with all people.
The Isaac/Ishmael Family Feud
In Genesis chapters 12, 15, 17, God has very clearly promised that land to Israel though the seed of Abraham. The promise clearly is through the line of Isaac. In Chapter 15 He defines the land clearly as the land of Canaan. It has always been between the river of Egypt and the Euphrates. Deuteronomy 11:24 tells us more about where that land is.
Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be. (Deuteronomy 11:24)
The deed to this land is given to the seed of Isaac, not Ishmael. In Genesis 17 the inheritance is made very clear.
And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year. (Genesis 17:20-21)
The problem is that an Arab came along 600 years after Jesus Christ claiming to get revelations from God. The new revelations are different from what God had revealed in the Old Testament. Muhammad came along and said that God had told him differently. He said that it wasn’t Isaac that Abraham took up to be sacrificed, it was Ishmael. He said that Isaac and his seed had been trying to steal Ismael’s birthright.
The Qur’an is a Johnny come lately book of “scripture” and the Arabs want to put their faith in it because it says the land is theirs. This is why they are fighting in the Middle East. There can be no agreement between the Bible and the Qur’an. The Bible shows the Qur’an to be a phony.
What is going on in the Middle East is a testimony to the accuracy of the Bible because it lines up with Bible prophecy. The lining up of the nations is happening just has the Bible predicted. The nations are named by name in Ezekiel 38 and 39. They are all Muslim nations which surround Israel. We are actually seeing Bible prophecy play out before our eyes.
The Situation With Turkey
We have covered a lot on Turkey lately. Russia is trying to restore relationships with Turkey. These relationships were soured when Turkey shot down a Russian fighter.
After the so-called attempted coup in Turkey, Putin called Erdogan offering to remove sanctions and restore relationships. There is a triangular relationship between Iran, Russia, and Turkey. When you read Ezekiel 38, and see the nations listed, Rosh is mentioned, which many believe to be Russia, Persia is mentioned, which is modern day Iran, and Turkey is mentioned four times. We have argued that Turkey could very well be the seat of the Antichrist, especially if it is an Islamic Antichrist out of Europe. Remember, Turkey is trying to get into the European Union.
We are not trying to make the Bible fit the headlines, we are showing that the headlines match what the Bible predicted many, many years ago. The Bible predicted an alliance between Turkey, Russia, and Iran. This alliance will conspire against Israel and God’s plans in the end times. This is fascinating to say the very least.
The developments between Putin and Erdogan are very interesting. It is made more so buy the coup. If Erdogan starts killing his political opponents, who are the moderate Muslims, Turkey will become more of a fundamentalist state.
Angela Merkle has said that if Erdogan starts killing his political opponents, it is over for Turkey’s joining the EU. This will push Turkey into the hands of Russia. We are starting to see this very thing happen before our eyes. If this continues it will align the nations as prophesied in the Bible. Remember, Turkey is the doorway from the Middle East into Europe.
Russia has been presenting itself as a friend of the Middle East while telling them that they can’t trust America anymore. This is true, they can’t trust us because of Obama’s foreign policy. Our enemies no longer fear us and our allies no longer trust us.
Iran is the seat of the Mahdi (the Islamic messiah) movement in the Muslim world. This makes them a prime mover in these last days.
I believe that we are seeing Bible prophecy fall into place before our eyes. We should be saying, “Even so Lord Jesus, come quickly.”
