Update: or is the DHS doing its job and removing a baby from an abusive home?

Disturbing news, and questions arise from the news of a newborn baby being seized and taken from the baby’s parents, and the affadavit states the affiliation of the father, Jonathon Irish to the group “Oath Keepers“.  We don’t want to jump to conclusions without knowing the legal reasons for taking a new born from the parents.  It appears Jonathan Irish had a court order to finish a “violence” therapy program and possesses firearms and may have other issues.  So why take the newborn?

InfoWars had the following on their website, and please read and listen to their reports.

Where Did the Reference of Oath Keepers as a militia group originate from?

Our concern is simple: Is there something VERY different going on here.  Would this same decision by DHS been made before the Patriot Act was passed?  What is their problem with Oath Keepers, and why does the legal document classify them as a “militia”.  What is their definition of a “militia” and what is the definition of a “militia” in our founding documents as a nation.  So many questions.

The story stems from a post on The Daily Tea Party stating the new born baby was seized from the partents.

Some Excerpts:

The affidavit said “… the Division became aware and confirmed that Mr. Irish associated with a militia known as the “Oath Keepers”…” It was in forms from the DHHS and DCYF and signed by “Child Protective Service Worker” Dana Bicford on October 7th at 11:57AM.

This indication about Oath Keepers as a militia raised eyebrows as why would any affidavit anywhere call “Oath Keepers” a militia?  Where did that come from?  So the question is “Is Homeland Security, or other government employees targeting Oath Keepers?”  Or perhaps some social worker at DHS took it upon his or herself to categorize Oath Keepers as a militia group. Do they also think Tea Party Groups, 912 groups, and similar groups are “militia types”?

Or is there a DHS list of militia groups in the United States that contain non-militia patriot groups?  That is the critical question.   If the government is placing patriot groups into categories like “militia groups” that would be extremely distrubing.

What is Oath Keepers?

Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, reserves, National Guard, veterans, Peace Officers, and Fire Fighters who will fulfill the Oath we swore, with the support of like minded citizens who take an Oath to stand with us, to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God. Our Oath is to the Constitution

Definately not a “militia”, but those that support and defend the Constitution, similar to the swearing in of our own politicians oath.  If local, State and Federal employees think otherwise, sounds like THEY need an education on the Constitution and our rights as Americans.  Sensitivity training? Do they have a prejudice mindset?

The baby’s parents seem not to be fit as parents, see links below.

  • To those running with the Oath Keeper story, it’s NOT what they want you to believe
  • The Liberal Heretic:
  • The father, Jonathan Irish has a history with police, who have been called out to their residence more than once regarding Irish and firearms, including possession of concealed weapons without a permit. A 21 month investigation against both of them for child neglect which also led to a trial to terminate their parental rights. They are awaiting that decision. In order to regain custodial rights of Stephanie Taylor’s children, Jonathan Irish was required to attend Ending the Violence with Scott Hampton, a simple course on how to not abuse your loved ones. It must have been too difficult for Mr. Irish to bother with, because he never attended, and Stephanie Taylor’s kids are still in state custody.  The fact is you have a violent moron and the woman who loves him more than her own children. Proof positive? She lost custody of her children, and then went and had another with this fool, knowing their child would be taken away. Congratulations, you give the right wing a bad name. It’s people like you we want to banish to the far corners of the Earth, never to be heard from again

So the unanswered questions:

What is the source of that reference stating the Oath Keepers is a militia group.

The parents’ history of child abuse and violence is documented and the seizure of the baby was to protect the child.  But, again, what is the origins of catagorizing Oath Keepers as a militia group?
