Border Patrol agents seized over 16,147 pounds of marijuana and 129.6 pounds of cocaine. Agents arrested 10 criminal aliens and 11 gang members. There were 3 rocking incidents.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. Record checks revealed the subject is a Sureno gang member, had a prior conviction for possession of a deadly weapon and had previously been removed from the United States.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Nicaragua near Falfurrias, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject is a Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13) gang member and had previously been removed from the United States.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized five assault rifles with magazines near Relampago, Texas. Agents found the weapons abandoned in a bag near the river, however, there were no arrests made.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 129.6 pounds of cocaine, a Ford van and arrested a United States Citizen (USC) at the traffic checkpoint near Niland, California. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle, and a search by agents revealed the narcotics.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested two illegal aliens from Mexico near Hickiwan, Arizona. The subjects claimed that after illegally entering the United States, they were robbed at gunpoint by four armed bandits. There were no reported injuries and the appropriate authorities were notified of the incident.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Guatemala near Tucson, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for lewd or lascivious battery upon a minor in the state of Florida and had previously been removed from the United States.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents reported the assault on an agent by an illegal alien from Mexico near Brownsville, Texas. The subject committed the assault by biting and throwing dirt and debris at the agent. Agents were able to take the subject into custody without further incident. Prior to his attack upon the agent, the subject dropped a bag which was later found to have 20 pounds of marijuana inside.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Guatemala near Ajo, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject is a Sureno 13 gang member and had previously been removed from the United States.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Guatemala near Calexico, California. Records checks revealed the subject was an 18th Street gang member and had previously been removed from the United States.

Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 3,422 pounds of marijuana, a tanker-truck and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Hebbronville, Texas. The subject presented himself for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the tanker. A hazardous material response team from the state Department of Public Safety entered the tanker and discovered the marijuana hidden inside.

Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,749 pounds of marijuana, a tractor-trailer, and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Laredo, Texas. The subject presented himself for inspection and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the tractor. A search by agents revealed the marijuana hidden inside.

Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents seized a tractor-trailer and arrested a USC and 47 illegal aliens at the traffic checkpoint near Laredo, Texas. The USC subject presented himself for inspection, and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer. A search by agents revealed the 47 illegal aliens inside the locked trailer. Record checks revealed that the USC was a registered sex offender and had an extensive criminal history.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 4,757 pounds of marijuana, a tractor-trailer and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. The subject presented himself for inspection, and a Border Patrol canine alerted to the trailer. A physical inspection by agents revealed the marijuana hidden inside.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 222 pounds of marijuana, an ultralight aircraft (ULA), and arrested a national of Mexico after receiving the report of the aircraft flying into United States’ airspace near Lukeville, Arizona. An agent observed the ULA inside the United States, and a Customs and Border Protection Office of Air and Marine (CBP OAM) helicopter quickly intercepted the aircraft. The pilot of the ULA jettisoned his contraband load and subsequently crashed when he attempted to land on a dirt road in the United States. Agents on the ground quickly recovered the contraband and arrested the subject, who was immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Coolidge, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for rape of a child in the state of Washington, and had previously been removed from the United States.

Blaine Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested two illegal aliens from El Salvador near Blaine, Washington. Records checks revealed both subjects are MS-13 gang members and had previously been removed from the United States.

San Diego Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested a USC for assaulting an agent near Boulevard, California. The subject threw rocks at agents and actively resisted arrest, and then began throwing rocks at the agents’ Border Patrol Vehicle. The subject was subdued and taken into custody without further incident. There were no injuries or damage reported.

San Diego Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested a USC and a national of Mexico at the traffic checkpoint near San Clemente, California. The two subjects were referred to a secondary inspection when an agent observed a firearm inside the vehicle. Records checks revealed both subjects had active protective orders that prevented them from carrying a firearm. The USC resisted arrest, but was subdued without further incident.

Buffalo Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico at the Greyhound bus station in Rochester, New York. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for child molestation and had previously been removed from the United States.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 2,589 pounds of marijuana, a tractor-trailer and arrested two USCs at the traffic checkpoint near Sarita, Texas. A scan using non-intrusive inspection techniques revealed anomalies in the trailer and a physical search by agents revealed the marijuana.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 3,387 pounds of marijuana and a Ford truck after responding to suspicious activity near Ventana, Arizona. Agents were following the tire tracks of the Ford when a CBP OAM air asset located the vehicle hidden under a tarp. A search of the abandoned vehicle revealed the marijuana.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Douglas, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for attempted unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor in the state of California, and had previously been removed from the United States.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Honduras near Sierra Vista, Arizona. Record checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for indecent liberties with a child and had previously been removed from the United States.
