Lawfare: Islam’s Attack on Free Speech
Segment One
Today we are going to be discussing lawfare. Lawfare is where Islam is using our laws to war against our society and our culture. It is part of the cultural jihad. They are using it to attack one of the most important freedoms we have, the freedom of speech.
Shahram as experienced the attacks by Muslims trying to shut him up. When he was running for political office the local CAIR office put out press releases against him calling him the islamophobic candidate.
With no proof and no evidence CAIR went after a teacher in Washington State. They don’t care if they have any evidence to back up their accusations. All you have to do is speak truth about them and they will use any method possible to silence you. The front groups for the Muslim Brotherhood have almost limitless resources from the Muslim world to advance their cultural jihad.
Although this is to a major degree about the freedom of speech, it is also about the freedom of religion. As Christian preachers we speak about faith, about the Bible, and about other false religions. The Bible talks about those who hate the people of God, the Jews. If we point out the fact that Islam is anti-semitic we can find ourselves before a judge because Muslims will find a way to take us to court. We will have more to say on this in the next segment.
If we let them shut down the freedom of speech, the freedom to criticize, the freedom to expose the truth, we will be unable to speak the truth. We are commanded by God to speak out against evil, and if we can’t, our freedom of religion is lost.
Fortress of Faith is an apologetic and a polemic ministry. This means that we defend our faith and point out the errors of other faiths, especially Islam. We make charges against the religion of Islam, which we back up using their own words.
The duplicity and hypocrisy if Islam is seen in that they constantly criticize Christianity. They believe that we are polytheists, that we are filth, and they have no problem saying so. They believe that Muhammad came to correct our error. Why does Islam have the right to criticize Christianity, but if we criticize Islam it is hate speech?
We must understand that lawfare is part of Islam’s play book for defeating the West. They use the very freedoms they oppose and our laws to silence all opposition. We had better recognize what they are doing and take every measure we can to stop them.

Segment Two
We had Ezra Levant on today’s broadcast. Ezra is a conservative broadcaster, journalist, and commentator in Canada. I refer to him as the Sean Hannity of Canada.
He took on the issue of the Danish cartoons. There is a lot more to the story of the cartoons that is generally known. The Muslims were printing pictures that they said were the cartoons printed in the Danish newspaper and they were not. The actual cartoons that were published did not outrage the Muslims, it was false cartoons published by the Muslim clerics that were the cause of the outrage.
Muslim are using what we call “lawfare” to take the freedom of speech away from those of us in the West. Lawfare is warfare using our own laws and our own courts against us to destroy our freedoms and bring in Shariah law.
When a person’s arguments are not strong enough to win a debate they often attack the person and try to shut down the debate. The Muslims are taking to our courts and suing those who tell the truth about Islam. They will keep it up until an individual runs out of money to defend himself.
Ezra’s story is a warning for us here in America. Canada does not have our First Amendment and it shows us what could happen here if we don’t defend our Bill of Rights.
The Danish cartoon story started Ezra’s campaign to ensure that they didn’t bring Sharia law into Canada by the back door using censorship laws. The law suit over the Danish cartoons was, in a sense, a prosecution for blasphemy because some Muslims hold that it is blasphemy to show an image of Muhammad.
Ezra was sued by the former youth president of the Canadian Islamic Congress because he had written about him 6 years ago on his blog telling how he had tried to censor Mark Stine here in America. Mark Stine had written about radical Islam in a Canadian magazine so this Congress took him to the Human Rights Commission to censor him. This law suit was the result of the Congress trying to censor Ezra.
Last week he lost the law suit. He was ordered to pay this former youth president $80,000 plus legal costs. Here are the reasons he called him and anti-Semite:
· Ezra had said that he was the youth president of the Canadian Islamic Congress
· The Congress is an anti-Semite organization
· It calls for the legalization of terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah
· Their leader went on TV and said that any adult Jew as a legitimate target for terrorism
· Based on his position as youth president I said he was anti-Semitic
The judge ruled this was not allowed because he was expressing a fact and not an opinion and the connection wasn’t strong enough. She said it was a statement of fact that was not proved even though he was a leader in this anti-Semitic organization. This should be extremely disturbing to anyone who wants to speak the truth about Islam or any other political ideology.

Paragraph 166 of the decision says:
Notice that the fact that Ezra’s statement was based upon facts didn’t matter. He was not allowed to call the man an anti-Semite because he stated it as a fact and not an opinion. This gives a legal weapon to Islamic extremists to take out the watchdogs of our Western civilization.
I hope you understand how critical this is. We have a lot of Canadian listeners to our broadcast who tell me they are afraid to speak out because of things like this. This is censorship, and if we don’t win this battle we will lose the war against radical Islam.
This is happening in Canada because they don’t have our First Amendment. They are trying to do the same thing in America using our hate crime laws.
To show this in its true light, imagine a Christian suing in court because an atheist had insulted Christianity. It would be laughed out of court. The idea that the court would silence or censor the atheist is unthinkable.
The comments that brought this law suit were on Ezra’s personal blog. He doesn’t have a large company with deep pockets behind him. For the sake of freedom of speech he must appeal this ruling. We ask those who follow Fortress of Faith, both in Canada and in America, to help Ezra financially in this important effort if they are able to do so. We cannot allow the precedent to be set.

Segment Three
Ezra is a defender of conservative values. He speaks the truth on many subjects, including Islam. He has been attacked for doing so and just lost a law suit against a former Muslim leader of the Canadian Islamic Counsel. He has already spent over $100,000 in his defense.
Some of you will remember the incident where we had trouble getting our materials into Canada. I had asked my pastor to take some of our materials up to our shippers in Canada and he was detained at the border. The seized our materials and called it hate propaganda. There was an investigation and it was determined that our materials did not incite hatred, violence, or riots and that we were free to take the materials into Canada.
We make every effort not to incite hatred against Muslims. We emphasize that Muslims are the victims of Islam. We teach how to evangelize them and bring them out of Islam.
This is the kind of thing you expect to hear from totalitarian regimes like Communist Chine or the former Soviet Union. It is not what you would expect at the border between two free countries.
In the history of Canada there has never been a Muslim prosecuted for hate speech. The one group which is preaching jihad and the overthrow of the West is the one group that officials are too afraid of to prosecute. They will go after Christians, but they will never go after a jihadist.
After this incident I wrote and article “Muhammad At The Border Crossing.” I raised the question of whether Canada would let him in if he tried to cross the border with his materials. If they did they would be inviting all kinds of hatred. They would be inviting real hate speech that says kill those who don’t believe like you, inviting material that teaches having sex with children, etc. If they held him to the same standards as those who oppose Islam neither Muhammad nor his material would be allowed into the country.
The end goal is not just to stop people from saying things against Islam. The next step in their plan is what has already happened in Europe. If you speak out against Islam it is now a criminal offense. People who tell the truth about Islam are going to jail for “defaming” Islam. When Sharia law is fully implemented they will then kill those who speak out against Islam.
Ezra will be appealing this case and he needs our help. If you go to his website, Stand With Ezra, you can read the whole court ruling and see everything the judge had to say. You can decide for yourself who is right and who is wrong. It is going to cost me about $30,000. If, after looking at the ruling, you think that he should appeal you can click on his PayPal button and make a donation. We believe that Ezra must appeal all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada. If this judgment is allowed to stand it will limit to free speech of everyone. Ezra will be very grateful if you could help in any way. This isn’t just his fight, this is our fight for our freedoms and our way of life. Let me remind those of us who are not in Canada, it will come here next. As a mater of fact, it has already stated. They are using our hate crime laws against us. Even if you can only give a small amount, please do so. A lot of small gifts equal one big gift and every little bit helps.
I mentioned what is going on in Europe. Most of what is happening there is due to UN Resolution 1618. Search this site for resolution 1618 and you will find a number of articles explaining what it is and why it is dangerous. This resolution makes it a criminal offense to defame any religion, but it is more targeted toward Islam.
For years the US has been voting against accepting this resolution. When Hilary Clinton was Secretary of State she worked on the Istanbul Process which shaped the language so we could vote affirmative on it and we did. This means that our nation has said that it should be a criminal offense to defame a religion. This is usually taken to mean that saying anything negative about a religion would be criminal. However, the definition of “defame” is to hurt the reputation of (someone or something) especially by saying things that are false or unfair. Stating something that is true is not defamation, yet in Europe we see this being used to silence anyone who says anything negative against Islam, no matter how true it may be.
In Europe all of the prosecutions have been against Christians. There has never been a prosecution against a Muslim for “defaming” a Christian.
Since those like Hilary Clinton have not been able to get Resolution 1618 passed into law here in the US, they have brought it into the policies of the various departments, like Home Land Security. This has put restrictions of the agents who are charged with rooting out terrorist activity. They are no longer able to consider the teachings and doctrines of Islam in their investigations.
The major force behind this resolution is the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) which is a major voting block in the UN. What is happening in Canada with Ezra Levant shows how Muslims are using this to suppress the freedom of speech. The laws based upon this resolution, and the prosecutions based on these laws are all geared to silence all opposition to Islam. This is what lawfare is all about. Lawfare is part of cultural jihad, and is being used to make Islam the dominant religion in the West.

Segment Four
In North America we value our freedoms. The Canadians don’t have the same laws concerning freedoms that we do in the US. This makes it a little easier for the Muslims in Canada, and this is why they are a little further down the road than we are in the US.
If we look at Islamic countries we see that freedom is almost non-existent. You can’t even choose your own religion. If you are not a Muslim you are considered an enemy of the state and you will be forced to live in subjection or even be killed.
We have our freedoms because our society is based upon the principles of Christianity. We must stand up for these principles if we want to keep them.
Today we are going to look at some examples of how Muslims are using lawfare to change our culture and take away our freedoms.
In Canada the National Counsel of Canadian Muslims, Canada’s equivalent of CAIR in the US, sued the Prim Minister for saying that this organization is a terrorist linked organization. At least the Prim Minister has the resources of the government to defend himself. The expenses don’t have to come from his personal pocket as we saw with Ezra Levant yesterday.
Both the Counsel of Canadian Muslims and CAIR are Muslim Brotherhood organizations. Even some Muslim countries have them on their terrorist lists.
For years CAIR has tried to hide their terrorist connections. This is no longer so. They have recently sponsored demonstrations for Hamas in cities across America, and in those demonstrations the people have been shouting “We are Hamas, we are jihad.”
Those in America who think we are not facing the same thing because of our freedoms given in the Bill of Rights. This is not so and I want to give you some examples of Muslims using the US courts to try to destroy our freedoms. They are using our courts to try to make our laws Sharia compliant.
In Florida a Muslim Disney Land employee sued Disney for not allowing her to wear her hijab, her head scarf. Disney has a uniform policy for those who work in the public eye. They did not fire her, they just wanted her to work in the background where her hijab would not affect the image they want to portray. She wanted to flaunt her religion in front of Disney Land visitors.
The problem with lawfare is that when companies are sued their lawyers tell them that it is less expensive to settle than to fight the case in court. This capitulation gives weight to the Muslims and causes other to continue the process. They think that if they give them some money it will all go away. It will not because this is part of their strategy to make our laws Sharia compliant.
Muslims sued a gym in New Mexico over the head covering issue, alleging racial and religious discrimination. Abercrombie & Fitch paid $71,000 to settle a suit over their employees wearing hijabs. The hijab compromised the image they wanted to portray for their brand.
The next area they are attacking concerns our dietary practices. Muslims sued a Mac Donald’s in Dearborn MI, the Muslim capital of America, over halal chicken. Mac Donald’s had advertised halal chicken nuggets. There was a technicality on how the chickens were slaughtered in some of the plants that supplied them. Mac Donald’s paid $700,000 to settle. The result is that Mac Donald’s has completely remove halal chick from their menu.
Another case happened in Oakland CA where Mac Donald’s had to pay $50,000 because they required an employee to have a trimmed beard. Islamic law says you have to trim your mustache, but not your beard.
In Washington State a Muslim sued a university for firing him because he would not conform to the uniform code. he was a security officer and they required him to trim his beard. He sued the university and won.
Again, in Washington State, there were rental car shuttle drivers who wanted to pray during work hours. The company said OK but you will have to clock out during your prayer time. they sued the company and the company capitulated by settling out of court because it cost less than fighting it in court.
The way lawfare works in the US is that once these cases are on the books it creates what is called precedence. This means that these cases become part of the consideration by other judges in their judgments. this is what lawfare is all about. Their goal is to slowly wear us down and shape our nation into an Islamic society.
If we want to preserve our American way of life which is under attack by Muslims through cultural jihad we must stand up and fight. This is why ministries like Fortress of Faith and the TIL Project are so important. This also underscores the importance of Christians being on their knees before God with repentant hearts, seeking His face. If God doesn’t intervene I fear that our freedoms and our nation will be lost.
