Segment One
Benjamin Netanyahu’s Speech Before Congress
Most of you have probably heard, or heard about, the speech by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. You have probably also seen President Obama’s response as he tried to play down the importance and the content of the speech.
I was able to interview Congressman Mark Meadows from North Carolina shortly after the speech. He is on the committee of Foreign Affairs and the sub-committee dealing with the Middle East and North Africa. I will give you the highlights here,.
Here are the points we discussed:
· The Growth of anti-Semitism
· The support for Israel on Capital Hill
· The treat of Iran in the region, to Europe, and to the United States
· Concern for the deal the President is negotiating with Iran
· The untrustworthiness of Iran
· The comparison with what is happening with this deal and North Korea
· Everyone wants a deal, but we want a deal that guarantees peace
· The three things Iran must do before we can lift the sanctions
· What can Congress do to insure Iran does not have the sanctions lifted
We are deeply disappointed with reaction of some of the Democrats and the President to Netanyahu coming before Congress. Around 50 Democrats boycotted the speech and the administration treated the Prime Minister of Israel more like an enemy than a friend.
The heart of the speech is about the negotiations between this administration and Iran concerning Iran’s nuclear program.
I want us to know that throughout history there has been a very special relationship between Persia (Iran) and Israel. Many times God raised up Persia to come to Israel’s aid. It may be that God is doing this again. Hear me out on this. We must separate the Iranian leadership, the mullahs that run the country, from the people of Iran. Many are becoming Christians in Iran at this time. These Christians in Iran are pro-Israel.
One thing that Mark Meadows said in our interview is that if Iran wanted to show their sincerity in the negotiations they could do so by releasing Pastor Abedini, an American citizen, from prison. His only crime is preaching the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Meadows also told us that the unclassified things that are known about the negotiations with Iran are bad. If the unclassified things are bad, imagine how bad the classified things must be. From the things he said we understand that this deal is not only bad for Israel, it is bad for the US and for Europe. We must also remember that Iran does not like Saudi Arabia and it is bad for them also.

Segment Two
Netanyahu said this deal has two major concessions: one, leaving Iran with a vast nuclear program and two, lifting the restrictions on that program in about a decade. That’s why this deal is so bad. It doesn’t block Iran’s path to the bomb; it paves Iran’s path to the bomb. It just kicks the can 10 to 15 years down the road and then the sanctions will be lifted freeing Iran to build as many bombs as it wants.
We only have to look at North Korea to see what negotiations like these produce. North Korea has several bombs at its disposal and those negotiating with Iran are the same that are negotiating with North Korea. What makes anyone believe that the same people with the same process will get different results with Iran?
Everyone wants a deal. I want one, the American people want one, even Israel wants one, but we want one that will guarantee peace. Netanyahu outlined three things that need to be in the agreement if this is to be accomplished.

First, stop its aggression against its neighbors in the Middle East.

Second… Second, stop supporting terrorism around the world.

And third, stop threatening to annihilate my country, Israel, the one and only Jewish state.
The sanctions should not have an expiration date, it should be based upon their behavior. America’s founding document promises life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Iran’s founding document pledges death, tyranny, and the pursuit of jihad. When the behavior changes, the sanctions can end.
For Congress to be able to keep a bad deal from being struck there will have to be enough votes to override a Presidential veto. This means that there will have to be enough Democrat Senators willing to stand against the President on this issue.
The situation we face today is not much different from what we saw in the 1930’s with Hitler. Had we listened to Churchill instead of Chamberlain we may have averted WWII. Churchill warned of what would happen if Hitler was not stopped. We are doing the same thing concerning Iran. We need to stop this totalitarian country’s aggression before it is too late.
When will we learn that you can’t appease evil. The more you tolerate, the more it will grow. Netanyahu said that it was foolish to think the Iranian regime will change. It will not. To think that we can control a people controlled by Satan and governed by Islam, which is inherently anti-Semitic, is the hight of foolishness.
Iran believes they are ushering in the 12th Imam, the Mahdi, the messiah of Islam. They believe that Isa, the Muslim Jesus, is going to come back with Mahdi and kill the pigs (the Jews) and destroy the Christians. This is an important part of Islamic doctrine.
The only real hope is a change of governments in Iran. As long as Iran has an Islamic government things will continue as they are.
Let me tell you how Netanyahu’s speech helped me and how I think it helps America. He said that the Obama administration is on the path to creating a bad deal. One of the things that makes it bad is the sunset clause that lifts the sanctions at a given time with no requirements upon Iran to change their behavior. As I have already said, to assume that the present regime in Iran will clean up its act is foolish. Is there any evidence of this happening today?
Here is something Netanyahu said that is very important concerning this issue:
The U.N.’s nuclear watchdog agency, the IAEA, said again yesterday that Iran still refuses to come clean about its military nuclear program. Iran was also caught — caught twice, not once, twice — operating secret nuclear facilities in Natanz and Qom, facilities that inspectors didn’t even know existed. Right now, Iran could be hiding nuclear facilities that we don’t know about, the U.S. and Israel. As the former head of inspections for the IAEA said in 2013, he said, “If there’s no undeclared installation today in Iran, it will be the first time in 20 years that it doesn’t have one.”
Even knowing this, this administration is trying to negotiate with the Iranian leaders. With all of the proof that they cannot be trusted, why would they do this?
Last week Iran carried out a military exercise blowing up a mock U.S. aircraft carrier. Does it really look like Iran wants peace? How can anyone trust Iran to do what it says? I might add that Muhammad used the same tactic of signing a peace accord to gain some time and then break it as soon has he was ready to attack.
Again, you can’t expect Iran to change because they are not governed by politics, they are governed by an ideology. This ideology is dedicated to destroying Israel, and all Jewish people and converting or killing all “unbelievers.” These people believe they are ushering in the end time eschatology of Islam. They cannot be negotiated with.
Some think that this is happening because Obama is naive concerning Islam. I don’t believe this to be the case. I believe he knows exactly what he is doing.

Segment Three: Middle East
What is happening in the Middle East is not just about Iran and Israel. It involves the whole region. There are things going on that most of us are not aware of. Even Saudi Arabia is targeted by Iran.
Just this past week Saudi Arabia has reportedly agreed to let Israel use its airspace to attack Iran if necessary, in exchange for “some kind of progress” on the Palestinian issue. This is an almost unbelievable turn of events.
Most of us have a hard time understanding why Saudi Arabia would allow this. In one sense it is all Islam, both Saudi Arabia and Iran are Islamic regimes. We need to understand that the regime in Iran does not like the monarchy in Saudi Arabia. Iran believes that the Saudis have perverted Islam. This is why Iran is working to destabilize Yemen. Iran is presently in control, at least to some degree, of five Islamic capitals in the region.
Islam has two major divisions, Sunni and Shia Islam. The two do not like each other. Saudi Arabia is Sunni and Iran is Shia. Each thinks the other has perverted true Islam. There are reports that if Iran got a nuclear weapon they would also use it against Saudi Arabia.
Since both nations are Islamic, they will set aside their differences to fight a common enemy. This would include Israel, Christians and Jews, and ultimately America.
Netanyahu brought up the story in Ester about the plot to destroy the Jews by Haman in ancient Persia (Present day Iran). There is an interesting side to this story that Netanyahu missed.
First of all let me say that Netanyahu needs to separate the people of Iran from the regime. There are a lot of Iranians, both in Iran, and here in America, who are secular. Most of these Iranians think that what this regime is trying to do is despicable and an embarrassment to Iran.
The part that Netanyahu missed in giving the story of Ester is that God gave the Jews favor with the Persian king. The issue is that God worked mush through the Persians in the restoration of Israel after the Babylonian captivity. This is what I was talking about earlier when I mentioned the special relationship between Persia and Israel.
What Netanyahu should have done is said that he wanted to reach out to the Persian people who have been used of God throughout history to help preserve Israel. He should have appealed to the people of Iran, not the regime, for help. He should have reminded them the Obama refused to stand with them in 2009 when they rose up against the Mullahs and tried to set up a democracy.
There are approximately 100 million Iranians in the world. There are about 75 million in Iran and the rest of them in other countries. There are estimates that from 5-10 percent of these people are Christians. Shahram’s contacts in Iran say that the Iranian Christians are praying for Israel and even praying that God would send them to Israel to share Jesus Christ with them.
I don’t think that it is an accident that so many Persians are coming to Christ. These people will stand with Israel.

Segment Four The Rise of Anti-Semitism
In my interview with Mark Meadows I asked if anti-Semitism was gaining ground in Congress. It is growing in our universities. We have just posted two videos to our Facebook page. Jewish college students are being verbally attacked on our college campuses on a regular basis.
In one of the videos a student waved an ISIS flag and no one said anything to him. One person even encouraged him. Then he came out and waved a Jewish flag and was verbally attacked with all kinds of colorful language. This is just one example of the way anti-Israel sentiment is growing in our educational institutions.
You understand why I asked if anti-Semitism is growing in Congress when you think about the 50 plus Democrats boycotted Netanyahu’s speech. I call them anti-Semites. Mark Meadows says they are supporting the President. Well, judging by his actions, I think the President is an anti-Semite himself. In my opinion the support that he has given to Israel was given only because he has to give it.
When the President defends and supports Islam on every hand and speaks ill of Israel every chance he gets, what else are we to think? As shocking as this may be to some of you, I don’t see how we can look at the policies and statements of this President and come to any other conclusion.
Here is something that Netanyahu mentioned in his speech that seems to prove that it is not just anti-Israel, it is anti-Jew:
For those who believe that Iran threatens the Jewish state, but not the Jewish people, listen to Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, Iran’s chief terrorist proxy. He said: If all the Jews gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of chasing them down around the world.
Do you still think that it is only about the Jewish state? How could it be much more clear than this. It is the goal of Islam to chase down all Jews around the world and kill them all.
Some people say they are not anti-Semite, they are anti-Zionism. They say they are against the Jews stealing land from the Palestinians and setting up a Jewish state. The above statement proves that this is not the case. The goal of Islamists is to totally destroy the Jewish race.
This is consistent with what the previous president of Iran has said. It is consistent with what the present president of Iran has said. It is also consistent with the attitude of Obama’s half brother, who is an anti-Semite.
When you look at the actions of this administration it should be obvious that it is against Christians and Jews, not just Israel as a nation. If those Democrats who boycotted Netanyahu’s speech were supporting Obama then they were supporting his anti-Semitism also.
The sad thing is that anti-Semitism is also appearing in our churches. Many “Christians” are starting to be pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel.
When CAIR had pro-Palestinian rallies on college campuses there was much support. But when a Jewish flag is raise on these same campuses it is met with hatred.
Netanyahu is inviting the Jews of Europe to come to Israel because the level of anti-Semitism there is approaching what it was in the 1930’s. He has actually alloted $45,000,000 to help them relocate to Israel.
Last week we saw that the greatest number of hate crimes in America is against Jews. Those committed against Christians and Muslims did not even come close to the number committed against Jews. Anti-Semitism is alive and well in America and around the world.
The goal of Iran, and the rest of true Islam is to wipe the Jews, not just the nation, off the face of the earth. This is another holocaust waiting to happen.
The Bible makes it clear that God is not through with Israel. The “Church” did not replace Israel. Christians are just grafted into the vine and the Jews are the natural branches. The promise of Genesis 12:3 is still true.
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Genesis 12:3
Our nation has been blessed because we have stood with Israel from the beginning. We now have a President who does not support Israel. We have a people who have not been educated on why it is important to stand with Israel.
Netanyahu is not a perfect man and Israel is not a perfect nation. We don’t necessarily agree with everything they say and do, but we do stand with them and bless them.
As I often say, we need to pray for the peace of Israel.
